Bull Creek Presbyterian Church (BCPC) has developed this privacy statement in order to
demonstrate our commitment to protecting your privacy. The following discloses the information
gathering and dissemination practices for our organization and this web site: www.bullcreekpresby.org.
|
|
Members' information is maintained confidentially and visitors do not have to provide any
personal information to our organization unless the individual chooses to do so. To operate
efficiently and keep members/visitors informed, however, various functions and groups within
BCPC do request and use items such as contact information. This information, if provided, will
be protected to the best of our ability.
|
|
We do not rent, sell or exchange our mailing lists or any other personal information, or otherwise
disclose such information to third parties, except as may be required by law.
|
|
By visiting the BCPC web site at www.bullcreekpresby.org, and/or agreeing to allow BCPC to
post any of your personal information on this site, you are accepting the practices described
in this Privacy Policy.

Your Personal Information and How We Use It
|
|
BCPC reserves the right to collect and/or use (as described above) two main types of information
for or through our web site:
|
-
Personal, or "individually identifiable information" that you provide to us; either for posting
on the web site or when you complete online forms. Examples would include email addresses, names,
street addresses, phone numbers, and photographs. With your permission, we may use this information
in web postings or to contact you about BCPC‑related events.
-
Standard web server/visitor traffic information, commonly referred to as "aggregate information,"
regarding overall Web site traffic patterns. Normally, web servers collect this type of basic information
automatically as part of their web log processes to administer the web site more effectively and to
help diagnose problems. We do not report on collected information on individual user sessions but we
reserve the right to share aggregate statistical information (e.g., the number of visitors to our web
site). These statistics do not include personal information.
|
|
Participants in Church Activities
|
|
We will post individually identifiable information (phone number, email, etc.) only when you specifically
request/allow that we do so. Typically, this will occur when you desire to serve as a point of contact
for a ministry team or an upcoming event. We will make every effort to use the church office as a
global point of contact instead of posting any personal information to this web site.
|
|
Also, in order to make our web site more interesting, we periodically post photographs of various
church activities. Adults (18 years or older) who attend BCPC activities will be considered to have
given implied consent for the posting of their images on the BCPC web site without specific personal
identification. BCPC will NOT identify subjects of posted photographs without their express consent.
|
Certain additional guidelines and restrictions will pertain to children and youth (under 18):
-
The full name and other personal information such as address, telephone number, and email
address will not be published on the web site.
-
Children and youth in photos may be identified by first name and first initial of last name only.
-
Photos of groups of more than three (3) individuals may be published on the church web site without
parental or guardian permission only if individuals are difficult to identify.
-
Names of individuals may be published on a web page as long as the names are not directly tied to
photographs which identify the individual.
|
|
Web Site Visitors
|
|
We may use aggregate information gathered from your visit to better design our web site. This
information supplies us with a broad picture of how people use our web site and helps us to better
manage it and serve our audiences.
|
|
We may collect anonymous information from our web server about your visit to our site in order to
monitor general traffic patterns on our site. This information is collected and stored in log files.
We may compile and analyze this information. Reports may include information such as the following:
|
|
There are instances when BCPC may request individually identifiable information from its online users.
For example, if you are contacting us to request information, we may then request the following: first
and last name, street address, city, state, zip code, telephone number, and email address.
|
|
If you do provide individually identifiable information, we will, with your permission, use this information
to contact you about BCPC‑related events. As stated previously, BCPC will NOT share your individually
identifiable information, including your email address, with others (such as businesses or other organizations
for their use in solicitation or other communication campaigns).
|
|
A Note about Cookies: BCPC does not currently use "cookies". If we see a need to do so in the
future, it will only be to provide better service and this policy will be updated. The use of "persistent" cookies
will not be allowed. (A "cookie" is a small amount of information that is sent to your browser from a web
server and is stored on your computer. A "persistent" cookie is retained on your hard drive for subsequent
visits. Some websites use persistent cookies to track your personal use of their website. BCPC does not
track individuals or their use of our web site.)
